Summary

It is recognized that Reproductive Health is a crucial part of overall health and is central to human
development. The definition of Reproductive Health, adopted in the Plan of Action of the
International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) held in Cairo in 1994, and endorsed
by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution 49/128, serves as the basis for action by all
UN agencies and member states including Nepal.
